A survey by NielsenIQ shows that 80% of Italians support a four-day workweek, seeing it as a way to improve quality of life by better managing family, elderly care, and personal health.

Most parents manage their children with minimal external help, and many caregivers handle elderly family members alone. The short workweek is believed to allow more time for personal well-being, such as physical activities and travel.

To achieve this, workers are willing to accept more flexible hours, increased productivity, and fewer breaks, but few would accept a salary reduction. While it offers better work-life balance and personal satisfaction, concerns include increased workload, pressure, and coordination issues.
