PERSONAL DEFENSE AGAINST VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
The choice to dedicate an entire “chapter” of our D-ESG content to female self-defence lies in the fact that the effects of gender violence have repercussions on the well-being of the whole community and represent a health problem of enormous global proportions.
Violence against women is a public health problem, as well as a violation of human rights. It has short- and long-term negative effects on the victim’s physical, mental, sexual and reproductive health. The consequences can lead to isolation, inability to work, and limited ability to care for themselves and their children.
When we read the figures relating to violence against women, assaults, femicides and rapes, and we realize the extent of the problem, we are then able to evaluate, with concrete data in hand, the importance of investing in self-defence preparation, also in terms of prevention.
It is undoubtedly a primarily good tool to discourage certain primitive behaviours together with culture and information.
