In carrying out an economic activity, the benefit corporation, in addition to the aim of dividing profits, pursues one or more purposes of common benefit and operates responsibly, sustainably and transparently towards people, communities, territories and the environment, goods and cultural and social activities, bodies and associations and other stakeholders. (Art. 1, paragraph 376)

Companies other than benefit corporations, if they also intend to pursue objectives of common benefit, are required to modify the articles of association or the statute in compliance with the provisions that regulate the modifications of the social contract or statute specific to each type of company and file, write and publish the afore-mentioned changes in compliance with national legislation.
