ISO has launched ISO 17928, the first global standard dedicated to biodiversity.
The new standard provides guidelines and requirements to integrate biodiversity into business processes, in line with other ESG standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 26000, representing a major step forward in helping companies assess and manage their impact on nature in a structured way.

Developed by experts from over 60 countries, ISO 17928 is aligned with the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

It offers a unified approach to:

  • identify dependencies, impacts, and risks related to nature,
  • integrate biodiversity into governance and operational processes,
  • enhance transparency and reporting to investors and authorities.
